The Bunyip & District Strikers‘ Soccer Club started from very humble beginnings.

In late 2008, a small group of committed soccer enthusiasts including Tony Arrigo, Alan and Mary Cole, Adrian Gatti, Roman Kulkewycz and Craig Marks came together with a view that the Bunyip District needed a soccer club. The first meeting was hosted by Mary Cole at the Coles‘ residence. Alan and Mary Cole together with the Arrigo family kindly donated start-up money and from that point the club was formed. Soon after Rob Chilinski, Justin Oakes and Dale Pronk joined the committee. Tony‘s passion to establish a junior club had finally come to fruition.

The club was incorporated in 2009. The training ground and full-size soccer pitch were marked out and established January 2009. The club‘s first Gala Day was held in February 2009 with spectacular initial interest and registrations. The “Strikers” name and logo was adopted by the club in May 2008 retaining the original maroon, green and white color scheme. The clubs first major sponsors – Garfield Berry Farm and Cheffield Meats – signed up for a 3 year commitment in July – August 2009.
